BH ZINE & MIXTAPE SUBSCRIPTIONS: 2026-27

A notice for those who missed it! BARELY HUMAN is deleting all social media and algorithm-driven platforms going forward in favour of a traditional email list and postal subscription service. Those who subscribed back in 2021 or 2023 via whatever horrid platforms I gave in and used at the time will be familiar with this... but the long short of it is: typewritten zine on DIY matters, with optional accompanying mixtape in cassette or CD-R form (more info below...kinda). 

If that sounds like something you're interested in, you can print and post the below form, or email an equivalent to max@barelyhuman.info to sign up. 

The zines will deal with some thoughts on subcultural theory, how that ties into the lost notion of counterculture, some research updates as I dig into Italian punk subcultures and their forebears, plus the occasional reviews, some case studies here and there, more traditional BARELY HUMAN style band histories and parallels to the world of literature of which I'm increasingly being absorbed into via work and the novels I've been writing.

The mixtapes are familiar to those who've perused the ONLINE SHOP over the years, but will be in a newish format that's more akin to a radio show... I'm aiming for a more urgent form of the podcast, more scattered in its approach connecting ideas and themes, and including new music as well as historical. 

The prices quoted above are in Australian dollars, and this is available as is in Australia only. If you're overseas and want to be a part of it, email me to arrange some options - postage costs are a bit prohibitive, so I can get you a quote when each issue is ready to see if you want to pay it, otherwise I can package it with subsequent issues or other BH goods when available to make it worth your while when the time comes. 

I'll also endeavour to update this blog with reviews! So check back occasionally, or just sign up to the email list as you wish.
